" Cry loudly, do not hold back- Raise your voice like a trumpet, and declare my people their transgression. “(Isaiah 58:1)

Are we destined to suffer under sexual abuse and exploitation? or to fight back till we get justice?

Human Sex is a special gift of God for the pro -creation and the existence of humanity. That should be done only with in the sacramental marriage with the mutual love and consent of wife and husband. All other types of sex and sexual activities are sin and abominable in front of God and humanity. We are the children of Jesus with the spirit who says,” But I tell you that if anyone looks at a woman and wants to sin sexually with her, in his mind he has already done that sin with that woman.”(Mathew 5:28) But this holy gift of sex is abused and exploited wantonly and nakedly and even glorified and sold in the open market. The victims have no god fathers and god mothers to cry for and stay for and most often they suffer silently as it’s their fate. Actually we are not destined to live like that by the fear of the society and the dirtiness of the rich and powerful. If we are silent then the perpetrators will be sainted and this heinous crime will be glorified and we will be driven in to the world of silence. And this sin will be flowed in this beautiful earth as honey and milk. Any type of sexual abuses at any time ,places, ,circumstance and person should be zero tolerant. That should be exposed and punished and justice should be done invariability to the king and to the wag abound. “For Zion sake I will not keep silent.”(Isaiah 62:1) Jesus is ready to safe guard you from the sexual cannibals.

One of the sexual victims of Dominique Straus Kahn [who was the chief of IMF. He had tried to rape and wanted sex with the hotel maid, 37 years single mother with 15 years old daughter from Gienia. She has resisted it and voiced and complained to the New York City police. Then the culprit ,Strauss Kahn was hand cuffed, paraded , and clamped in to the Ricker’s jail -the most notorious in US.] says, “When I see that a little chamber maid is capable to taking on Dominique Strauss Khan, I tell myself I do not have the right to stay silent.”

“ For God did not give you in a spirit of timidity(cowardice. of craven and cringing and fawning fear), but of power.”(2 Timothy 1:7)

Prayer

Jesus, Wipe away all our sins of sex. Save us from all the sexual predators. We pray for all the sexual victims especially the children and the women in the war zones like Ivory Coasts. Let us have the gut to resist all types of sexual advances. Let justice prevailed every where. All we ask in the name of Jesus. Amen.

1. ഭാര്യയെ 'എടി', 'നീ' എന്നൊക്കെ വിളിക്കുന്നതിനു പകരം 'കുട്ടാ, കുട്ടാ' എന്ന് മാത്രമേ വിളിക്കാവൂ. സംതൃപ്ത ദാമ്പത്യത്തിനു ശ്രീമാന്‍ കാലച്ചന്ദ്ര മേനോന്‍ എഴുതിയ 'ഏപ്രില്‍ പതിനെട്ട്' എന്ന മനശാസ്ത്ര നോവലില്‍ ഇത് പരാമര്‍ശിക്കുന്നുണ്ട്.




2. രാവിലെ എഴുന്നേറ്റു പല്ലുപോലും തേയ്ക്കാതെ ഇഡലിയും ചമ്മന്തിയും അടിച്ചു കേറ്റുമ്പോള്‍ 'കുട്ടാ എന്നെ വിളിക്കാതിരുന്നതെന്താ, ചട്ടിനിയ്ക്ക് തേങ്ങ ഞാന്‍ തിരുമ്മി തരുമായിരുന്നല്ലോ' എന്ന് പറയുക. നിങ്ങള്‍ യഥാര്‍ത്ഥത്തില്‍ തേങ്ങ തിരുമ്മേണ്ട യാതൊരു ആവശ്യവുമില്ല. പൊട്ടിയായ ഭാര്യ ഈ കമെന്റു കൊണ്ട് തന്നെ ത്രിപ്തയായിക്കൊള്ളും.




3. പത്രം വായിക്കുമ്പോള്‍, മുഴുവനും പേജും ഇറുക്കിപ്പിടിചോണ്ടിരിക്കാതെ ആ മെട്രോ മനോരമയുടെ പേജെങ്കിലും ഭാര്യയ്ക്ക് കൊടുക്കുക. രണ്ടു മിനിട്ട് കൊണ്ട് വായന കഴിഞ്ഞു തിരിച്ചു കിട്ടും. ഇല്ലെങ്കില്‍, 'ഈ വീട്ടില്‍ എനിക്ക് പത്രം പോലും വായിക്കാന്‍ കിട്ടുന്നില്ല' എന്ന് തുടങ്ങുന്ന ഒരു രണ്ടു മണിക്കൂര്‍ വഴക്ക് പ്രതീക്ഷിക്കാം.




4. സത്യസന്ധതയ്ക്ക് ദാമ്പത്യ ജീവിതത്തില്‍ വലിയ പ്രാധാന്യമില്ല. ഭാര്യുണ്ടാക്കിയ കാശ്മീരി ചില്ലി കൊപ്പെന്‍ ചിക്കെന്‍ വായിവെക്കാന്‍ പോലും കൊള്ളില്ലെങ്കിലും ആ കാര്യം മിണ്ടിപ്പോകരുത്‌. നിങ്ങള്ക്ക് തീരെ കഴിക്കാന്‍ സാധിക്കുന്നില്ലെങ്കില്‍ 'ഇത് ഞാന്‍ പൊതിഞ്ഞു ഓഫിസില്‍ കൊണ്ടുപോകാം, സുഹൃത്തുക്കള്‍ക്കും നല്കാമല്ലോ' എന്ന് പറയുക. ഓഫിസിലേക്കുള്ള വഴിയില്‍ ഇത് ഭാര്യയറിയാതെ കളയാം. അതല്ല, ഇനി നിങ്ങള്ക്ക് ഇഷ്ടമില്ലാത്ത ആരെങ്കിലും ഉണ്ടെകില്‍ ഇതെന്റെ ഭാര്യയുണ്ടാക്കിയ കാശ്മീരി ചില്ലി കൊപ്പെന്‍ ചിക്കെന്‍ ആണെന്ന് പറഞ്ഞു അവര്‍ക്ക് കൊടുത്തേക്കുക. ഭാര്യയേയും പ്രീതിപ്പെടുതാം, പ്രതികാരവുമാകാം.




5. ഭാര്യ തടിച്ചു വീപ്പക്കുറ്റി പോലെയാനിരിക്കുന്നതെങ്കിലും, 'കുട്ടാ നീ വല്ലാതെ മെലിഞ്ഞു പോയി' എന്നിടയ്ക്കിടെ പറയുക. താന്‍ കെട്ടിയവനെക്കാളും തടിച്ചുവെന്ന തോന്നലുള്ള ഭാര്യമാര്‍ കൂടുതല്‍ കുടുംബ വഴക്കുകള്‍ ഉണ്ടാക്കുന്നവരാനെന്നു തെളിഞ്ഞിട്ടുണ്ട്.




6. നിങ്ങള്‍ പരീക്ഷയ്ക്ക് പഠിക്കുന്ന കൊണ്സേന്‍ട്രെഷനില്‍ ഐ പി എല്‍ കാണുമ്പോള്‍ അവള്‍ ഓഫിസിലെ കണകുണ കാര്യങ്ങള്‍ പറയുകയാണെങ്കില്‍ 'നീ ഒന്ന് ചിലയ്ക്കാതിരിക്കാമോ' എന്നാവരുത് നിങ്ങളുടെ പ്രതികരണം. പറയുന്ന കാര്യങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് നിങ്ങള്‍ മറുപടി പറയണംന്ന് ഭാര്യയ്ക്ക് ഒരു നിര്‍ബന്ധവുമില്ലെന്നു മനസിലാക്കുക. ഇടയ്ക്കിടയ്ക്ക് മൂളിക്കൊടുതാല്‍ ധാരാളം മതിയാവും. ഇനി അതും നിങ്ങളുടെ ശ്രദ്ധ കളയുമെന്നുന്ടെങ്കില്‍ ഇടവിട്ടുള്ള മൂളലുകള്‍ ഒരു ടേപ്പില്‍ പകര്‍ത്തി ഭാര്യ സംസാരിക്കാന്‍ തുടങ്ങുമ്പോള്‍ ഓണ്‍ ചെയ്തു വെച്ചേക്കുക. ടേപ്പിന്റെ കാര്യം ഭാര്യ അറിയാന്‍ പാടില്ലെന്ന് പ്രതേയ്കം പറയേണ്ടല്ലോ.




7. ഒരുമിച്ചിരുന്നു ടി വി കാണുമ്പോള്‍, വല്ലപ്പോഴും ആ ടി വി റിമോട്ട് പിടിക്കാന്‍ ഭാര്യയെ അനുവദിക്കുക. സ്ത്രീ പുരുഷ സമത്വത്തിന്റെ പ്രതീകമായിട്ടാണ് മിക്ക ഭാര്യമാരും ടി വി റിമോട്ടിനെ കാണുന്നത്. അത് കൊണ്ട് ഇത് വളരെ പ്രാധാന്യമര്‍ഹിക്കുന്നു. പിടിക്കാന്‍ മാത്രം അനുവദിച്ചാല്‍ മതി. ചാനെല്‍ മാറ്റുന്നത് നിങ്ങള്ക്ക് തന്നെയാവാം.




8. വല്ലപ്പോഴും ഭാര്യയോടൊപ്പം ഒരു സില്ലി റൊമാന്റിക് സിനിമാ കാണുക. ഇത് നിങ്ങള്ക്ക് വളരെ പ്രയാസമുള്ള കാര്യമാണെങ്കിലും കുടുംബ ഭദ്രതയ്ക്ക് ഇതാവശ്യമാണ്. വല്ലാതെ ബോറടിക്കുന്നുടെങ്കില്‍ ചെറുതായി മയങ്ങാവുന്നതാണ്. ഇടവേളയ്ക്കു പോപ്‌ കോണ്‍, പഫ്സ്, തുടങ്ങിയവ വാങ്ങുന്നതും ഭാര്യയുടെ മനസ്സില്‍ നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇമേജു വര്‍ദ്ധിപ്പിക്കും.




9. ഭാര്യയുടെ സുഹൃത്തുക്കള്‍ വീട്ടില്‍ വരുമ്പോള്‍, കുശുംബികള്‍ 'എന്റെ ഭര്‍ത്താവോ നിന്റെ ഭര്‍ത്താവോ മെച്ചം' എന്ന് അളക്കാന്‍ വരുന്നതാണെന്ന് മനസിലാക്കി ബുദ്ധിപൂര്‍വ്വം പ്രവര്‍ത്തിക്കുക. 'കുട്ടനില്ലെങ്കില്‍ എന്റെ ജീവിത കൊഞ്ഞാട്ടയായിപ്പോയേനെ' എന്ന ലൈനില്‍ കത്തി വയ്ക്കുക. കൂട്ടത്തില്‍ സുന്ദരികള്‍ ഉണ്ടെങ്കില്‍ അവരെ അവഗണിച്ചു വിരൂപകളോട് മാത്രം സംസാരിക്കുക. ഓര്‍ക്കുക, നൈമിഷിക സുഖമല്ല ജീവിതകാലം മൊത്തമുള്ള സമാധാനമാണ് നിങ്ങളുടെ ലക്‌ഷ്യം.




10. ഇടയ്ക്കിടയ്ക്ക്, 'കുട്ടാ സഹായിക്കണോ, കുട്ടാ സഹായിക്കണോ' എന്ന് അങ്ങോട്ട്‌ ചോദിച്ചെക്കുക . നിങ്ങളുടെ സ്നേഹത്തില്‍ പുളകം കൊണ്ട് ഭാര്യ എല്ലാ പണികളും പൂര്‍വാധികം ഉത്സാഹത്തോടെ തന്നെ ചെയ്തോളും. ഓര്‍ക്കുക, സ്ത്രീകളുടെ സൈകോളജി പ്രകാരം പ്രവര്‍ത്തിയല്ല, വാചകമാണ് കുടുംബ ഭദ്രതയ്ക്ക് ആവശ്യം.




11. അന്തിമമായി, ഭാര്യയ്ക്ക് നിങ്ങളെ ഉപദേശിക്കാനും നല്ലവഴിക്കു നടത്താനുമുള്ള അവകാശമുണ്ടെങ്കിലും നിങ്ങള്ക്ക് തിരിച്ചു ആ അവകാശമില്ല എന്ന് മനസിലാക്കുക. വിവരക്കേടുകൊണ്ടു പോലും 'കുട്ടാ നീ ചെയ്തത് തെറ്റായിപ്പോയി' എന്ന് പറയാതിരിക്കുക. കാരണം, സ്ത്രീകളുടെ സൈകോളജി പ്രകാരം അവര്‍ ഒരിക്കലും തെറ്റ് ചെയ്യില്ല.

SERMON OF THE WEEK June 5,2011

                                            
Next Sunday is the first Sunday after Ascension. The gospel reading is from St. John 6:35-46.

Theme: "I am the Bread of Life."

Gospel Reading: (St.John 6:35-46)

"35  Then Jesus declared, I am the bread of life.Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and                                    whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.                            
36 But as I told you, you have seen me and still you do not believe.
37 All  those the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away.                                 38 For I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of him who sent me.                              
39 And this is the will of him who sent me, that I shall lose none of all those he has given me, but raise them up                                 at the last day.
40 For my Fathers will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have                                 eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day.
41At this the Jews there began to grumble about him because he said, I am the bread that came                                down from heaven.
42 They said, Is this not Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How can he now                                 say, I came down from heaven?
43 Stop grumbling among yourselves, Jesus answered.                              
44 No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws them,and I will raise them up at the last day.                                 45 It is written in the Prophets: They will all be taught by God.[a] Everyone who has heard the Father and learned from him comes to me.
46 No one has seen the Father except the one who is from God; only he has seen the Father".                              

Message:
 There   are several "I AM" statements of Jesus that are found in the gospel of St. John. They include:
1. I am the bread of Life which came down from heaven  (6:35,41,51)
2. I am the light of the world                                            (8:12; 9:5)
3. I am the door of the sheep                                           (10:7,9)
4. I am the good shepherd                                               (10:11,14)
5. I am the son of God                                                     (10:36)
6. I am the resurrection and the life                                  (11:25)
7. I am the way, the truth, and the life                              (14:6)
8. I am the (true) vine                                                      (15:1,5)

     Each one of  the "I AM" statements represents a particular relationship of Jesus to the SPIRITUAL  needs                       of men and women. Jesus is the LIGHT  in the darkness, the GATE to security, and the   SHEPPERD  that                              guides. He is the WAY, the TRUTH and the LIFE. In every one of these we see that Jesus wants us to                             receive him, not for the  gifts he can give us, but for what he  can be to us. Right after the feeding of  the 5 thousand, Jesus made the first of the  recorded I AM statements.

                                    This week we witness an  important revelation of Jesus, "I am the Bread of Life. He who believes in me has everlasting life. I am the bread of life. Your forefathers ate manna in the desert, yet  they died . But here is the bread that comes from  Heaven which a man can eat and not die. I am the living                                 bread that comes down from heaven. If anyone eats this bread will live forever. This  bread is my flesh                                which I will give for the life of the world."

    Jesus says the words he speaks of is about the spirit. It is the spirit that gives us the life, not the flesh.                                 By faith we partake in Christ. Eating and drinking is the reception of God's grace by  believing in Christ                               . Seeing and believing in Christ is equivalent to eating and drinking His flesh and body. Jesus underlines  the necessity of feeding on him by faith to have eternal life. The Eucharist (Holy Qurbono) represents the communion of the believers in his body and blood. The Lord's supper signifies our participation in Christ by faith and the benefits of eternal life through him. Eucharist is the fulfillment of Jesus' sacrifice. Receiving   his body and blood through Eucharist is absolutely necessary of salvation.                              

   In this context, Jesus is referring to the spiritual needs of the people. It is the spiritual food that Jesus is offering instead of  the physical food. The physical food will not satisfy our spiritual hunger. We need the spiritual food for eternity                                .

                                          Jesus' words that he is the bread of life and  the way to eternal life were not what the crowd that followed him wanted to hear. They wanted Jesus to provide them food the way Moses had                                 provided manna. They wanted more of the feeding of the 5,000 type miracles. They wanted to satisfy their                                 physical hunger. So they rebelled  against him.
                                     The reaction of the Jewish leaders to Jesus' claim made them also hostile to Jesus. These leaders were waiting for Jesus to say or do something they could jump on and ridicule him.                             
     The Jewish   leaders saw Jesus as a carpenter from Nazareth.They refused to listen to him with an open  heart                             .

                                   Jesus emphatically said, "He who believes in me will have everlasting life." Again Jesus said, "I am the bread of life," linking this statement with meeting man's everyday basic needs, hunger and thirst.                                 Jesus said this could be permanently cured. When their forefathers ate manna in the  wilderness, only their                                physical hunger was met. Jesus said the bread of life he provides is the spiritual food which is the word of God. Jesus offers himself as the bread of eternal life from heaven.
                                    There are many people around us who are hungry  for Jesus' words of hope and comfort. When we  develop such a hunger, it would be satisfied. If we take the Bread of Life into our  life,                                our lives can be restored to the true way of Christian spirit. Without  the spiritual food, our soul will wither and die. In the satisfaction of that spiritual food,we will discover it is not "eternal youth"  but "eternal life" that we are searching for. That moment will bring perfect contentment in our life

His Beatitude Catholicos Dr. Baselios Thomas I inaugurated the public meeting which was held at V.J.T Hall, to honour Dr. Babu Paul. His Eminence Mor Dionysius Yuhanon Kawak, Ex Minister of Education & Culture, Shri M A Baby MLA, Ex. Minister Shri G Karthikeyan MLA, Ex Union Minister Shri O Rajagopal, Hon'ble Mayor of Thiruvananthapuram, Smt. K Chandrika spoke on the occasion.
